Amelia’s Bridals {Lafayette Wedding Photographer}

You may remember Amelia from her gorgeous engagement photos a few months ago. Well, she and Jeremy are now married and Amelia made the most beautiful bride! For her bridal portraits, we met at the beautiful Shadows on the Teche in New Iberia. I can’t even describe how excited I was to shoot at this plantation. When I was little, my parents took us to quite a few plantations – Oak Alley, Longwood, Nottoway – the list goes on and on. For some reason, I remember that Shadows on the Teche was one of my favorites. I can’t quite remember why, now, but I think it had a fascinating history – something that caught my interest as a child. I definitely remembered the green shutters that cover the front porch and made sure to incorporate them into some shots!

I really had a great time during this bridal session because we pretty much had the run of the plantation. Caitlyn and Eric were married at Madewood Plantation in Napoleonville, so we were able to use it for her bridal portraits. Being able to take some portraits inside was a lot of fun and very different from what I normally do! The grounds of Madewood are gorgeous and made the perfect backdrop for Caitlyn’s classic look, she made such a beautiful bride!
Jorden’s Bridals {Morgan City Wedding Photographer}

I can’t believe its been two years since I took Jordan’s senior portraits and now she’s a gorgeous bride! Jorden’s younger sister, Jessa, was one of my senior reps this year and I just love this family. Sweet, beautiful girls that are naturals in front of the camera!
Jorden arrived at the attorney’s office in Houma with an entourage, which I’m always grateful for – her future in-laws, her other sister, Jaci, was there to help with the dress and her mom was there to make sure Jorden was always picture-perfect. Despite almost passing out at one point (note to other future brides, if you give blood the day before your portraits, let me know if one of the positions I put you in makes you light-headed!) - Jorden was glowing and so happy.
I tried a few new lighting variations during this session, so feel free to leave a comment letting me know what you think!
Jordan had a bouquet but had forgotten at home. When we came to this spot (one of my favorite at this location, I think it has such a fairy-tale look to it) we noticed this beautiful magnolia up in the tree. Jordan’s mom was able to reach it down for us and it made a perfect make-shift bouquet, so very Southern!
