Cory and Mallory {Morgan City Engagement Photographer}

After a few setbacks due to rain, I was finally able to meet with Cory and Mallory for their engagement session. Theywanted to start their session at Sacred Heart because that’s where their ceremony will be held this fall, and it made for a great location. After capturing some great images there, we headed to another local area with plenty of grass so we could include their dog. It was seriously HOT but we braved the heat and got some great images. I hope you guys enjoy them!

I am so incredibly happy with how this session turned out, especially considering how it began. Amanda, Kenny and I had made plans to meet in Lafayette at Acadian Village. What I didn’t realize when we made the appointment months ago was that Acadian Village closes at 4 … and we got there at 3:30. Ooops. Thankfully, I had some ideas for a back-up plan and it couldn’t have turned out better. This first location was discovered by my sister and I love how it turned out. Sure, we got bit by a ton of bugs and at one point were afraid we might have gotten into some poison ivy … but the shots speak for themselves:
Next, we hurried over to UL’s campus, hearing thunder overhead and hoping the rain would hold off for us. I hadn’t been to the campus since I attended UL years ago and was pleasantly surprised at how clean and nice it was. I knew the campus was beautiful, but I didn’t realize they had redone the whole quad area. It was the perfect location for a casual, laid-back session!
After exploring the quad a bit and changing clothes, we headed to the other side of campus to explore the swamp and Union. It brought back lots of memories from my days there, when it was USL. I really had a great time hanging out with Amanda and Kenny. They told me all about how they met at the gym… we got chased by some pretty aggressive squirrels and saw some strange creature in the swamp that we never did figure out. All in all, a fun day!
Jeremy & Amelia Engaged {Lafayette Wedding Photographer}

I love these photos for so many reasons. First, it was amazing that we even got to take them to begin with. We had already rescheduled once and the weather wasn’t looking like it was going to hold out for us. I headed to Avery Island in New Iberia anyway, praying that it would stay dry and it literally started to rain the minute I turned off the highway. But it only rained for about 3 minutes and by the time I turned into Avery Island, it was over. The weather created a beautiful, almost surreal light throughout the grounds, it was stunningly beautiful. Then, there was Amelia and Jeremy themselves who were so much fun to be around and both so sweet. We had a blast driving through the islands, jumping out of the truck when a spot seemed perfect for a shot. So basically, a beautiful location + a gorgeous, fun couple = awesome pictures!
