Abby and Ethan {New Orleans Child Photographer}

Posted on April 30, 2010

Four and a half years ago, Abby was born, just a little over a month after Katrina.  Eight days later, my little boy, Hayden, was born.  You should have seen the two of them as newborn babies, I really should try to find the photos.  Abby was a chubby little 8+pounder while Hayden was barely a scrawny 6 pounds.  Hayden very quickly caught up, though, and I’m pretty sure he’s passed her up!   Abby and Hayden both have “Grammy’s” who happen to both teach 2nd grade at the same school and are very good friends.  Oh, and did I mention that I have known Abby’s mommy since were were in elementary school?  So, you see, I’ve known both Abby and Ethan since they were both tiny little babies and this is the first time I’ve photographed them together!  They are both such beautiful kids and I had lots of fun chasing them … well, chasing Ethan, around City Park.  Abby stood in one spot and was happy to pose for me.  Maybe I’ll have to do an Abby and Hayden session soon so we’ll have a photo to compare to their newborn one!

Jen & Lee – Engaged! {Thibodaux Wedding Photographer}

When Jen suggested that we do her engagement session at Attakapas Landing, I had no earthly clue what she was talking about.  Then she mentioned Lake Verret and I thought to myself, oh, I know where that is, its not far from my house.  So, I woke up about 30 minutes before the session and headed to the computer to get exact directions … that’s when I figured out that Attakapas Landing was actually on the OTHER SIDE of Lake Verret, over an hour from my house … oops!  Thankfully, Jen and Lee were very understanding and we wound up having an absolutely beautiful day, perfect weather and what a fun location!    They spend a lot of time as a couple at a camp down there, so it was a great choice for the session.  We roamed all over the place, finding lots of cool spots and had a lot of fun!  It was great to meet you guys and I’m looking forward to the wedding!

Nick – One Year {Metairie Baby Photographer}

Sometimes I think the absolute best part of my job is knowing that I’ll see my friends and their kids at least every three months! LOL  My friends and I are scattered around Louisiana these days – Morgan City, Metairie, Westbank, Northshore – and we’ve all got lots of responsibilities to keep us busy – jobs, kids, hobbies, families – so its really hard to find time in our schedules to see each other.  When it comes to taking their kids’ photos, though, we always make sure to coordinate.  Its amazing to be able to watch their kids grow right before my eyes and be such a big part of their first year.  I took Nick’s first photos when he was just a few days old, which doesn’t seem that long ago and now he’s a year old!  The day we took his photos, Rebecca and I were able to take him and Emelyn (who are exactly 7 months apart) to the Monkey Room to play and get to know each other.  They are both toddling around now and got along so well… someone even asked if they were twins! LOL

So here is Nick, already one year old, walking around like a big boy and ready to become a big brother in just a few months – I can’t wait to meet his baby brother and photograph them together!
